I will try to be as fair and in depth as possible on this.
I will start off with the background.
~Background~
I like the clash and the scale of the fire that composes most of the background.
I can clearly see a very good scope of colors used to create the fire and it looks beautiful. The mixes of colors gives off depth and that is a nice touch. However there are some things that are lacking. One would be that fire gives off light to all of its surroundings as well as lack of surroundings and there's a lack of it emanating after the initial blaze. It seems to give off light to your character just fine for the most part. I would like to see more embers as well, fire is very unpredictable.
~Character~
This is my first impression of your OC Kegan and I will say I like the overall design, he looks like he would fit in with the Twili very well. Now lets get to the colors itself. Well seeing as he has red hair, I wonder why it seems the color is clipped at the top of his head. I'm going to guess it's because the fire isn't above his head directly, however it blends in too well, to the point where I can't tell where his head ends. This is also noticeable for the ears as well. I like the tall black cloak but a dark grey outline would tell that he's close to the fire, which to me, it looks like he is relatively close to the fire itself.
A little gripe, but I wonder what color are the irises, I want to say a dark red, but it's hard to tell. I have very little complaints on the clothing, it fits very well with the design and even with the heavy shadows, it's very noticeable that he is well equipped.
~Atmosphere~
I can clearly see that he has been through a very harsh battle to emerge from that fire with blood all over his weapons. Now from his pained face, it looks like he's a bit injured. Maybe it's just me though so I won't delve into it. Would love to know who or what he "dispatched" of before emerging. Maybe a shadow in the fire would've enlightened us on what happened.
~Random Remarks~
I am astounded that you made this with a pen and watercolors. There is a lot of time that was put into making this piece and I like it a lot. I just want to say this is pretty awesome.
* I would also like to point out that your logo/watermark is covering a good chunk of the picture, that can really distract viewers.
